When a student begins his/her high school career and changes to a different school, that student is considered a “transfer student.”
Per CHSAA (link to CHSAA transfer info to come). Any time a student changes schools after starting high school, that student
becomes ineligible at the varsity level of competition until the information required below has been completed and submitted
to both the previous and current school. Student is only allowed JV eligibility until CHSAA has determined final eligibility after
a review by the school’s league members.
Regardless of the type of transfer, there is paperwork (forms and documentation) that the student and his/her parents/legal guardians
will have to complete. It is the parent and student’s responsibility to provide accurate and truthful information (per CHSAA Bylaw 1800.74).
Unethical behavior, recruiting and cheating hurts everyone.
ALL TRANSFER ATHLETES MUST COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING STEPS, BEFORE, THEY PARTICIPATE
AT NEW HIGH SCHOOL. (PAPER TRANSFERS ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTED). AND, COMPLETE THE ONLINE
REGISTRATION INFO FOUND IN FIRST LINE OF "ONLINE REGISTRATION/PERMIT CARD PROCESS" TAB.
The following process can be accomplished as quickly/slowly pending parent/students completion of the following steps.
CHSAA - Planet HS Step #1: Conrad Crist (AD) or Rosalyn Seale (Ath. Asst.) will send an invite to the parent to create an account. Parent creates account within the invite that was sent. Then...

1. Create Accounts
Both a parent and student are required to create separate accounts. Each account must have a unique email or mobile phone number.
Home School selection- this is the school that you/your student attends/studies. Do NOT select the school district in which your school resides.
My student plays for both the Middle School and High School?! If your student plays on both a middle and high school team, upon account creation, select the home school in which your STUDENT STUDIES. You will be able to select a secondary school within the Additional Schools section after creating your account.
2. Link Parent & Student Accounts
Once logged in, you will be prompted to link the parent and student account. Enter the email address or mobile # to send an invitation to the parent/student. You can also link an account by navigating to the Link Accounts section in the top navigation bar. Enter the corresponding mobile number or email and click Send.
Once the related parent/student's phone number/email is submitted, they will receive a link via email/text message to finish the linking process.
The parent/student can also link accounts by logging into planeths.com, and then click Link Account in the blue navigation bar.
The invited person can also login and accept the link request by clicking on the Link Account Button and selecting Accept.
Why do I have to link accounts? Forms required by your school, often require both a parent and student signature to mark the form as completed. For the system to know what student and parent will be viewing and signing the proper forms, a linked parent/student account is required.
CHSAA - Planet HS Step #2:
Navigate to the “Transfer Form
Parent completes transfer form (Utilize the “Guide Me” for helpful info)
Parent will need to attach all supporting documents required by CHSAA. The following list is provided on the form. These
documents are necessary for CHSAA to determine the “Varsity or non-varsity eligibility” for this transfer. If documentation
s provided in timely manner, CHSAA ruling can be given within 48 hours of a work week.
If transfer is a “Bona Fide Move”:
Sale or termination of lease
Purchase or rental agreement
If transfer is for “Broken Home”:
Divorce decree of dissolution of marriage
Child support paperwork
If transfer is for “Hardship”:
Proof/documentation of situation, condition, or event that is beyond the control of the student or his/her family.
Parent inputs the sending school’s AD (previous school) name, and e-mail address in the sending school AD fields.
Parent can go back and upload docs.
CHSAA - Planet HS Step #3:
Sending school (previous school) receives e-mail, completes their portion of info. Sends back to receiving school (new school). If info is complete with all necessary documentation, info is sent to CHSAA.
CHSAA - Planet HS Step #4:
Receiving school (new school), completes any necessary info and sends forms to CHSAA
CHSAA - Planet HS Step #5
CHSAA approves or denies athletes Varsity or non-Varsity status.
Receiving (new school) communicates final decision to Students/Parent.
